🎥 Camera Prep Technician – Technical Role with All-Rounder Duties

Location: Perth, WA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Start Date: August 2025 / ASAP

About Us

We are a leading supplier of professional motion picture equipment and support services, working on some of the most exciting productions in Australia. Our work spans commercials, feature films, TV series, and branded content. We take pride in our technical expertise, strong client relationships, and commitment to excellence.

About the Role

We are looking for a Camera Prep Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on preparing, testing, and maintaining cinema-grade camera and lens equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring gear is clean, functional, and ready for clients.

But like many small businesses, we wear multiple hats — and we’re looking for someone who’s equally comfortable lending a hand across the broader needs of the company. This might include housekeeping, inventory support, basic admin, or helping with our systems and processes. We're a small, close-knit team and value people who are adaptable and happy to contribute wherever needed.

What We’re Looking For

We’re prepared to provide training and support to help the right person grow into the role. What we’re looking for is someone who already shows an interest or foundation in the film and television industry — whether through work experience, formal study, or personal involvement with camera gear.

If you’re someone with a genuine interest in the technical side of production and are looking to develop your skills in a structured, long-term role, we’d love to hear from you.

This position is best suited to someone pursuing a career on the technical and operational side of the screen industry. While a tertiary qualification can help, your attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare camera, lens, and accessory kits for rental jobs
  • Test, clean, and maintain gear to a high operational standard
  • Check in returned equipment and assess for faults or damage
  • Support clients during prep sessions
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks including basic admin, stock checks, housekeeping, or workflow improvements
  • Help maintain equipment databases and job tracking systems
  • Contribute to maintaining an organised, clean, and efficient workspace

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Have a genuine interest in camera technology and production gear
  • Are adaptable and happy to support the broader team when needed
  • Work well in structured environments but can also take initiative
  • Have good communication and organisational skills
  • Want to grow long-term within a supportive, high-performing team

Preferred Backgrounds May Include:

  • Experience in camera rental or production equipment handling
  • Study in screen production, film/TV, or related media
  • Prior work in live production, AV, tech support, or warehouse roles
  • Competence with basic office software and digital systems

What We Offer

  • On-the-job technical training and ongoing mentorship
  • A supportive workplace with opportunities for career growth
  • The chance to work with cutting-edge camera gear and major productions
  • Exposure to all areas of the business, not just the bench
  • Incentives and recognition for strong performance

How to Apply

Upload your CV and tell us a bit about yourself in the form below. We'd love to hear about your background, your interest in this industry, and how you see yourself fitting into this role.

We value attitude, curiosity, and initiative. If you're someone with a technical mindset who wants to be part of a small, capable team — and you’re ready to grow into a long-term role — we’d love to hear from you.
