NAB Show 2025 Highlights: Blackmagic, Aputure & more!

Some big new announcements at this year's NAB Show including some highly anticipated cameras, lighting gear and accessories. Check out some of the latest updates below

Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K Cinema Camera

The PYXIS 12K is a new box camera from Blackmagic in the same format as the original PYXIS, but with the same 12K large format sensor that is found in the URSA Cine 12K LF. Which according to Blackmagic means that the PYXIS 12K has the same 16 stops of dynamic range, a massive upgrade for cameras in this price range and form factor.

The large format sensor in the PYXIS 12K allows you to shoot in 3:2 open gate, and you can also shoot anamorphic and deliver in a range of aspect ratios with 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.66, 1.8 and 2x de-squeeze factors. And importantly you can shoot in 4K, 8K or 12K using the entire sensor without cropping, retaining the full field of view of your lenses.

The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is available in three models - L-Mount, PL, or Locking EF lens mounts; however, the mounts are not swappable.
